Danielle Kalani Heinz is highly involved in Pacific Islander education and is working to make Hawaiian archaeology more indigenously-oriented at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology of UCLA where she is working towards a Ph.D. She showed her support of education for underrepresented youth in summer programs and her involvement with the Pacific Island Student Association at UCLA.
Her service reaches beyond the Pacific Islander community as she has helped organize events and fundraisers for the LGBTQ community at UC Berkeley and UCLA. In addition to NPIEN, she is a member of the Hawaii’s Daughter’s Guild of California which is an organization that raises money for wahine scholarship.
