Patricia Springer attended Dominican University of California and studied Creative Writing at California College of the Arts. She began working in education in 2007.
A native of the East Bay Area, she has served vulnerable populations in the Bay Area for over 12 years. In addition to working with youth and families, she has a long history of anti-violence work, including serving as a Domestic Violence Counselor for survivors of intimate partner violence; interning with Veterans Healing Veterans from the Inside Out, a trauma-recovery program for incarcerated veterans in San Quentin State Penitentiary; and assisting in the founding of the charity, Shishu Unchained, a US-based org that provides funding for a survivor-run shelter for commercially sexually exploited youth in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Before her current position, she managed an adult residential treatment program for people with Co-Occurring Disorders in the mission district of San Francisco, CA. She currently holds the position of Development Officer at Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA.) She is most inspired by innovative, systemic approaches to improving the lives of others.
