Wally Rank remains the only Samoan, and one of two Pacific Islanders, to ever play in the National Basketball Association. He still holds the San Jose State Mens’ Basketball single game record for most points, with 40 points against Sacramento State in 1980.He played for the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, an in Italy. He was the founder of Youth Outreach United (YOU), which sponsored the South Pacific Games in Carson, CA for many years.
